Help and FAQ

FAQ

1 How are the button boxes made?
Each button box is handcrafted in small batches in our workshop. The wooden front panels are unique: the wood grain, color, and natural variations differ from one model to another, ensuring a handcrafted, not industrial, product. The structure is 3D printed in PETG, a strong, durable plastic suitable for intensive use.
2Why do you use PETG?
PETG offers an excellent compromise between strength, heat resistance, and durability. It's a premium material for 3D printing, perfectly suited for button boxes that are handled regularly. PETG is recyclable: in France, it goes into the yellow bin. Internationally, it should be placed in the container dedicated to recyclable plastic according to local standards.
3Are the button boxes Plug & Play?
Yes. The button boxes are recognized as standard USB peripherals (HID). No software or drivers are needed. They work with almost all simulation games (ETS2, ATS, BeamNG, Assetto Corsa, MSFS, etc.).
4What type of USB cable should I use?
The button boxes use a USB-C cable. They work with USB 2.0 and USB 3.0, but some motherboards may experience occasional instability on certain USB 3.x ports. If you encounter issues, simply try another port or avoid unpowered hubs. The included cable is recommended to ensure optimal performance.
5 Will the final product look exactly like the photos?
Each wooden front panel is unique. The color, grain direction, and nuances naturally vary from one button box to another. This is an intentional feature: you receive an authentic product, never identical twice.
6Are the buttons and switches real components?
Yes. We exclusively use real vehicle components (metal buttons, ignition keys, robust switches). The feel is more realistic, sturdier, and more durable than a classic plastic button.
7Is there a switch for the LEDs?
On most models, the LEDs are fixed and do not have a dedicated switch. Some button boxes are equipped with one → this is indicated in the product description. Please check the options before ordering.
8Can I open or modify my button box?
No. The button boxes are assembled and tested by us. Opening or modifying them offers no advantage and can damage internal components. The button boxes are equipped with an opening detection system: any opening voids the warranty.
9How to maintain the wooden front panel?
Wood is a natural material: slight variations or micro-marks are normal. For maintenance: - avoid water or prolonged humidity, - clean with a soft cloth, - a thin layer of natural oil can be applied if you wish to nourish the wood (optional).
10What to do if a game doesn't recognize a button?
In most simulations, detection is automatic. If a game doesn't recognize a button: - restart the game, - try another USB port, - check command assignments in the game settings. The button boxes are 100% recognized as standard HID peripherals.
